Last Strands of Man (2012, Short Film)

A group of scavengers is running thin on people, as well as resources. The movie doesn’t really start until one minute in. We see cooking, use of tents, horses, and mix of age, but no women.

The five minute payoff comes in unexpectedly. Or almost unexpectedly since there was a popup at the beginning announcing a fight scene. Nice use of slow-motion, only, bush is concealment, not cover, I’d be uncomfortable.

The short was done in a way that experienced acting was unnecessary, though there could have been more direction on facial expressions. This piece is all about mood; there is little dialogue.
