I am not sure how long it has been this way, but PTR91 Industries has temporarily suspended manufacture of the 7.62x39mm PTR32 series of rifles. CDNN Investments was selling them, at the longest, six months ago. Their website lists them as “Temporarily Out of Production”; this is good news if you’d planned to get one but hadn’t yet. PTR Ind. is also expecting some future job openings at their new South Carolina plant.
Unlike the original H&K HK32 prototypes, the PTR32 series utilizes non-proprietary AK magazines. Many reports indicate the Bulgarian polymer magazines as having the best fit. We have not tested this ourselves.
